Ms. Chu Soap & Beaut Review: Gentle Skincare for Babies & Adults
More importantly, the brand focuses on sensitive, eczema-prone and delicate skin, with products formulated around gentle cleansing and moisturising.
I received three products from the range:
- Baby Lotion
- No No Itchy Gel
- Baby Shampoo & Body Wash
Here's my first impression of each product, including what I like and potential drawbacks.
Not Just for Babies - Adults Can Use Them Too
At first glance, you might think Ms. Chu Soap & Beaut is exclusively a baby skincare brand because some of the products carry the word “Baby” on the packaging. Well, the range isn't necessarily just for little ones. Several of the products are suitable for adults too, particularly those looking for gentle skincare for sensitive, dry or eczema-prone skin.
So yes, adults can enjoy these products too — and that's exactly what makes this range interesting to me. Rather than having completely separate products for different family members, some of these can be incorporated into an adult's skincare routine as well.
First Impressions: The Packaging
What I Like
The first thing I noticed is the packaging. The white tube with the soft geometric design looks simple and clean.
I also like the fact that the lotion is positioned specifically for sensitive and eczema-prone skin, rather than being a generic body lotion.
The formula contains several moisturising and soothing ingredients, including shea butter, cocoa butter, aloe vera and colloidal oatmeal.
Pros
✔️ Designed for sensitive and eczema-prone skin
✔️ Contains moisturising ingredients
✔️ Can be used on face and body
✔️ Convenient tube packaging
✔️ Available in several sizes
✔️ Brand states it has the National Eczema Association Seal of Acceptance
Cons
❌ Potentially richer than what some people prefer in Singapore's hot and humid weather
Verdict: ⭐⭐⭐⭐½
A good option to consider if you prefer a richer moisturiser for dry or sensitive skin.
Now this is an interesting one.
Pros
✔️ Lightweight gel texture
✔️ Designed specifically for itchy skin
✔️ Steroid-free
✔️ Suitable for sensitive skin according to the brand
✔️ Can be used for mosquito bites and heat-related irritation
✔️ Comes in different sizes
✔️ Easy to keep in your handbag or travel pouch
Cons
❌ Tea tree oil and botanical ingredients may not suit everyone, so a patch test is sensible
The brand itself recommends testing a small amount on the forearm first and stopping if redness, itching, swelling or irritation develops.
Verdict: ⭐⭐⭐⭐½
This is probably the product I'd keep somewhere easily accessible — especially during Singapore's hot and humid weather when skin can sometimes feel irritated.
This is probably my favourite concept from the box because one bottle does two jobs — shampoo and body wash.
The formula includes aloe vera, glycerine, chamomile, coconut oil, jojoba oil, quinoa protein, lecithin and Vitamin B5/panthenol. The brand says it is free from sulfates, parabens and artificial fragrances.
Pros
✔️ Shampoo + body wash in one
✔️ Convenient for daily bathing
✔️ Gentle positioning for sensitive skin
✔️ Contains aloe vera and moisturising ingredients
✔️ Large 700mL refill available
✔️ Refill option reduces packaging waste
Cons
❌ Parents may prefer separate hair and body products
Verdict: ⭐⭐⭐⭐½
I like the practicality of this one. One bottle, two purposes — especially useful if you're trying to keep the bathroom less cluttered.
What I Like About The Brand
1. Sensitive-skin focus
The products are clearly positioned around gentle skincare rather than simply being general beauty products.
2. Multi-purpose products
The Baby Shampoo & Body Wash is particularly practical.
3. Refill options
The availability of larger refill sizes is a nice touch from a sustainability perspective.
4. Minimalist packaging
The green, white and natural kraft-paper combination looks beautiful.
5. No complicated routine
The products are straightforward and easy to understand.
Where To Buy
The easiest option is through the brand's official Singapore online store.
