Ms. Chu Soap & Beaut Review: Gentle Skincare for Babies & Adults

When a skincare package arrives beautifully presented, I always appreciate it even before opening the products. This Ms. Chu Soap & Beaut package immediately caught my attention with its elegant deep-green presentation box, natural shredded-paper filler and simple, minimalist product design.

More importantly, the brand focuses on sensitive, eczema-prone and delicate skin, with products formulated around gentle cleansing and moisturising.

At first glance, you might think Ms. Chu Soap & Beaut is exclusively a baby skincare brand because some of the products carry the word “Baby” on the packaging. Well, the range isn't necessarily just for little ones. Several of the products are suitable for adults too, particularly those looking for gentle skincare for sensitive, dry or eczema-prone skin.

So yes, adults can enjoy these products too — and that's exactly what makes this range interesting to me. Rather than having completely separate products for different family members, some of these can be incorporated into an adult's skincare routine as well.

First Impressions: The Packaging

The deep green packaging immediately caught my attention, giving the whole set a clean, natural, and premium feel. I also love the use of shredded kraft-paper filler instead of excessive plastic.

The box encourages reuse and recycling, which I appreciate. Simple, thoughtful and perfectly aligned with the brand's natural skincare concept. 

The Baby Lotion is designed for sensitive and eczema-prone skin. According to the brand, it contains ingredients including cocoa butter, shea butter, aloe vera, colloidal oatmeal, calendula and chamomile oils. It is positioned as a moisturising product for dry skin on the face, hands and body.

What I Like

The first thing I noticed is the packaging. The white tube with the soft geometric design looks simple and clean.

I also like the fact that the lotion is positioned specifically for sensitive and eczema-prone skin, rather than being a generic body lotion.

The formula contains several moisturising and soothing ingredients, including shea butter, cocoa butter, aloe vera and colloidal oatmeal.

The No No Itchy Gel is designed to provide soothing relief for itchy and irritated skin. The brand says it can be used for eczema itch, mosquito bites, heat rash and other mild itchy areas. It is steroid-free and contains ingredients including aloe vera, tea tree oil, calendula and chamomile oil.

This is probably the product I'd keep somewhere easily accessible — especially during Singapore's hot and humid weather when skin can sometimes feel irritated.

This is probably my favourite concept from the box because one bottle does two jobs — shampoo and body wash.

The formula includes aloe vera, glycerine, chamomile, coconut oil, jojoba oil, quinoa protein, lecithin and Vitamin B5/panthenol. The brand says it is free from sulfates, parabens and artificial fragrances.
